There’s not many people that can say they’ve sat on both sides of the law and lived to tell the tale… let alone be talking about it so publicly.

I’ve seen it all and some more!

I was born into one of New York’s most violent and feared Colombo crime families.

It was like a right of passage to become part of the criminal underworld, or as we used to call it “the family business.”

The truth is, I was good at it.

Really good.

At my most affluent, I was generating between $5,000,000.00 to $8,000,000.00 PER WEEK from both legal and illegal business.

The lines were well and truly blurred between power, luxury, respect, and violence.

In 1986 I was named one of the biggest money earners the mob had seen since Al Capone by Vanity Fair.

At 35, Fortune Magazine listed me as #18 on the list of “Fifty Most Wealthy and Powerful Mafia Bosses” – just 5 behind John Gotti.

I WASN’T YOUR TRADITIONAL MOBSTER

Where most would use force, intimidation, and violence to get ahead and what they wanted in my world… I used something 100x more powerful:

I created a world on the edge of the legitimate business that blurred the lines between plain criminal, and just plain genius.

From auto dealerships and union kickbacks, to financial services and the sports and entertainment industries, to a multi-billion dollar gasoline tax scheme, I made earning millions a weekly habit.

All of this didn’t go unnoticed.

I quickly became the target of Manhattan’s famed federal prosecutor, Rudy Guiliani. He came after me with racketeering charges, threatening me with 100 years behind bars.

I evaded him.

After that he tried four more indictments and still failed to nail me down.

At the time, the most important thing in my life was evading capture, and continuing to live this criminal life of indulgence and invincibility.

But then, one day, everything changed.

MY ENTIRE WORLD GOT TURNED

While producing Knights of the City, a breakdancing movie filmed in Florida, I met a beautiful dancer from Anaheim, California, named Camille Garcia. Her innocent beauty and faith were more powerful than any force I’d ever experienced in my life. (Which is saying something in the mob life!)

I fell deeply in love and eventually married Cammy. In the pursuit of trying to be a better man for her, I took the rap on racketeering charges, pled guilty, and accepted a 10 year prison sentence. I used the law as a tool for total transformation in my life. I also did what no person has ever done before:

The keyword is “walked away.”

I didn’t flee.

If I was going to walk away from one world, I was determined to walk into another with something to offer.

My life in the mob had given me a set of skills like no other.

Underneath the criminality, was a core skill set that could translate to the legitimate world and make just as much of an impact…

…if not more!

Like the communication skills that helped me engage bankers, corporate executives, union officials and professional and student athletes in a wide variety of financial scams.
